Watch out for this place you'll need a lawyer when dealing with Mara. We rented an apartment in February and there has been an issue with Mara, administration of the building and the owner from day one. Day one we noticed the water heater wasn't working so we called Mara the owner of this business. She said they'd fix it, next day her employee came to fix the water heater but couldn't find the parts so it took 3 more days for him to find the parts. In that time administration cut the water as there was a leak in the building on the 8th floor. Our water was cut for a week, we called Mara and administration but no one would answer. When we did call Mara it was always "I don't want to talk now", "I don't have time", "I don't like your attitude", always an excuse. After complaining the water was fixed, we had to wait again for Maras employee to fix the water heater. Some how she forgot that they are responsible for fixing the water heater and already agreed it it.Thank God for whatsapp messages being kept, we were able to show her, her own message clearing stating they'll pay for fixing the water heater. That's the beginning of the problems. Less than a month passes another problem, my husband was sitting in the kitchen when the entire roof collapsed on our floor. The neighbor above was doing construction with illegal works and they used a machine to smash through my roof. We called Mara and administration with no responses, no compensation for the loose of work, loose of kitchen appliances, glasses, plates etc. It's been 2 months living with the ceiling falling into my food while we cook, falling on us as we walk by. Every week the apartment floods from the problems in the building but administration nor Mara respond or care. We tried calling a lawyer but we needed an updated contract which Mara will not provide. We went to pick it up today and ask what's going on were tired of the problems and her not fixing or asking for more money. She claimed she was calling the police on my husband claiming he hit her. A LIE! So we went to the police station ourselves and we were told to go to the immobiliaria and call the police which we did. The police officer said that immobiliaria has problems all the time. He is called all the time as there are always issues with Mara and her company. The officer suggest we contacted a civil lawyer right away because this company always has problems, they're shady and do bad business. He handed us the updated contract we signed which was altered by Mara. Do not do business with Mara or her employees or you'll need to hire a lawyer. The office looks broken and beat up, the placard outside has multiple companies - lawyer, realtor, travel agent but sadly there all run by one person. If my experience is this bad, what makes you think her other businesses aren't as shady. She is nasty, rude, a massive Run for the hills and don't look back.
